Patrick Spence is a Texan poet and teacher. His poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in The New Criterion, The Little Review, EcoTheo Review, and The Classical Outlook.

He is a doctoral student in literature at the University of Dallas and a fellow of the Center for Thomas More Studies. His dissertation focuses on More’s early translations of Lucian, and in particular on More’s adaptation of Lucian’s ironic techniques to his own purposes.

He teaches English and Latin at a boys’ prep school, which you can get some sense of from his columns.
